In the northwest corner of Tenerife you can find one of the most exceptional places on the island: Barranco de Masca. At 600 m above sea level, Masca is tiny quaint town which is said to have been used as a pirate hideaway centuries ago. On this hike, you’ll encounter a range of sites, from deep ravines and steep cliffs over the Atlantic Ocean to uniquely beautiful remote landscapes. It takes three hours just to go down the Barranco. This is undoubtedly one of the best hikes on the island.
